Weather Information and Services
Flitesoft offers weather information from three sources: Live Weather, WxWorx (XM) satellite weather, and DUAT.
Live Weather
Live Weather is an Internet-based system that gathers nationwide
(48 states) NexRad radar, METARs, TAFs, winds aloft, weather maps, and
other weather products automatically and updates these data on a regular
schedule. Once enabled, it is always working in the background and is
always available and current. You might be checking weight & balance,
for example, and notice that the Chart's weather overlay updates without
any action on your part. This is normal - Live Weather operates
automatically without any access code, password, fee, advertising, cookies,
or obligation.
New! Live Weather Now Includes Radar in Motion!
WxWorx (XM)
Flitesoft can display weather information from a WxWorx satellite receiver
(Windows 2000, XP, or Vista required). This is great for desktop, laptop, or
tablet computers.
This service requires a WxWorx receiver. You can get information concerning
this receiver on our hardware page here.
You will also need a monthly subscription to the WxWorx service. This service
costs $29.99 to $49.99 per month. You can get the latest information on the

With the Aviator Lite service Flitesoft will display high resolution NexRad
radar, METARs and TAFs. The Aviator package will show all that data plus winds
aloft (at altitude), AIRMETs, SIGMETs, lightning, and TFRs.

DUAT
Flitesoft has the ability to access weather data through both DTC and CSC DUAT.
Both of these services are free to U.S. pilots, and either can be accessed
through the internet or by direct dial with a modem. DUAT supplies an official
FAA weather briefing.
