Sample Operation
Flitesoft includes an extensive list of valuable and useful features. Planning a flight, therefore, is quick and easy as this sample operation shows.

When first started, Flitesoft looks like the figure on the right. (The screen layout can easily be changed to appear as you wish.) You can start planning a flight by manually entering waypoints, by clicking on the Chart, or by recalling a saved route.
If you start by manually entering waypoints, it's as easy as typing an identifier, a name, or a city.
If you start on the Chart, just point and click to select waypoints. Or manually enter the departure and destination points on the Worksheet and "rubber band" the route on the Chart.
Or manually enter the departure and destination points on the Worksheet and use automatic routing. The point is that you are not forced through a series of steps - you are free to use whatever planning tools you feel are best for your flight.
Checking the weather through DUAT is as easy as clicking a button in the toolbar. The call is 100% automatic, works with both CSC and DTC DUAT, gets all of the free weather maps, overlays your route on the DUAT weather map, shows weather graphics directly on the Chart, enters the winds aloft into the planned flight and into the Efficiency function, and prints a concise weather report.
Checking weight & balance is also as easy as clicking a button in the toolbar, then entering the passenger and baggage weights for the flight.
Display the Flight Log with a single click, and print it with another. Display the FAA flight plan form, verify all information is correct, print the form, and file the flight plan with the FAA in one simple operation. (Domestic ICAO flight plans are also supported.)
Flight planning with Flitesoft can be as simple and fast as this example, or it can involve SIDs, STARs, approaches, finding the best bargain for fuel, finding the most efficient altitude for the flight, and actually looking at a three dimensional picture of the terrain at your destination airport.
