Flitesoft Computer Requirements
Flitesoft takes advantage of fast computers but also works on slower machines. Flitesoft is normally distributed on CD-ROM but the program includes an easy way to set up Flitesoft on a flash drive to use on remote machines.

Faster Program Operation
If you find Flitesoft runs more slowly than is desirable, the following settings will speed program operation.

Initial map view:
By default, the initial map view covers a large area of North America. To customize your program and speed operation, refer to page 10-18.

Adding Waypoints to the Worksheet:
When you know an identifier, use the "slash" method to speed waypoint selection. Refer to page 9-3 for more information.

Profile:
Under Utilities-Settings, do not select Profile "Automatic update". The Profile box can be updated, when desired, by clicking the Profile box.

Flight Check:
Under Utilities-Settings, do not select Flight Check "Adjust altitudes automatically". The Flight Check can be made, when desired, by clicking the check-mark button in the Toolbar.

Chart:
On the Chart Settings window, do not select "Auto conform." The Chart can be forced to conform, when desired, by clicking the Conform button on the right side of the Chart.

World Vector Map:
On the Chart Settings window, do select "Topography on demand." The Chart's Topo button will then display topography graphics only when you click the Topo button.

Computer Memory:
Flitesoft will run with only 4 MB of RAM memory but it is recommended that you have at least 8 MB. Even with 8 MB or more, however, Flitesoft may run slowly if it running along with one or more other programs. If you experience program slow-down, check to see what other programs are running and shut down as many as possible.
