Radar In Motion

For several years Flitesoft has provided current radar echoes on the Chart (indicating precipitation). Today Flitesoft adds "Radar In Motion" which shows trends as well as current conditions.

Two different companies are paid by the FAA to provide DUAT services to pilots. By special arrangement with DTC (one of the two DUAT providers), Flitesoft users receive several hours worth of radar data with each briefing, and see the radar information animated on the Chart.

In the example above, a two-hour flight has been planned to Ashland, Wisconsin. After looking at weather information available elsewhere, a pilot may decide that the flight is safe. Radar In Motion, however, provides a much more complete weather picture and clearly shows the advisibility of postponing the flight.
